Caleffi Highlights

New corporate presentation The Group' expansion and the NEW Research Centre Year after year, the results achieved by the Caleffi group confirm not only the success of its brand but also the whole universe of work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure the continuous strengthening of its product lines in terms of innovation and solidity. The 2007 financial year closed with a consolidated balance of nearly 265 million euros: this has been made possible by expansion in both workforce (we will soon have a thousand employees) and plant and, after China, the USA and the UK, there are plans to open new, more accommodating offices, strategically positioned in economic revival areas. But the real novelty of 2008 will be the opening of our new Research Centre. This bright red building stands out immediately as the centrepiece of our main plant in Fontaneto. Its cubic design is evocative of both the solidity of our business and the scientific nature of the research, a kind of symbolism that embodies the essence of Caleffi’s corporate mission: innovation translated into growth in production and company culture. We chose red, not one of our company colours, to highlight the need to concentrate on R&D, especially in the area of renewable energy. The new Research Centre will be the pulsating heart of our new alternative energy product lines. The following points give you an idea of the scope of the project. MAIN ACTIVITIES - Design and creation of renewable energy products and systems: components for thermal and photovoltaic solar energy systems, using the energy produced to power the building’s utilities.
- Research to improve our existing product lines
- Testing the components we supply with the primary objective of saving energy
SIZE Surface area (m2): • 880 ground floor • 1000 first floor • 815 basement • 305 parking The building’s thermal insulation complies with Class A System design specifications: 1. Thermal solar panels • 15 m2 for sanitary water supply to the building’s bathrooms and toilets • 15 m2 for component testing 2. Photovoltaic plant 19.9 kW/h • 84 polycrystalline modules x 225Wp each = 18,900 Wp for laboratory air handling requirements 3. Geothermal heat pump 60 kW powered by groundwater with vertical geothermal probes of 70 and 100 cm, and horizontal collectors. The project also includes two other pumps rated 8/10 kW. Advanced PLC for automatic control of all process components, with over 500 control points. - More detailed information will follow soon
